The practice of law in Romania is governed by the applicable Romanian legislation and by the rules and regulations governing the legal profession, as adopted and amended from time to time by the competent professional bodies.

3. Professional secrecy

A lawyer is bound by a duty of professional secrecy in respect of all information, facts and circumstances of which they become aware in the course of their professional activity.

Professional secrecy is of unlimited duration and applies to all aspects of the lawyer’s professional activity. The same duty applies, as appropriate, to partners, associates, employees and other persons working with or for the lawyer.

The lawyers of Stoian & Partners are covered by professional indemnity insurance in accordance with the requirements applicable to the legal profession in Romania.

5. Tax status

Professional fees are agreed individually with each client, having regard to the nature, scope and complexity of the engagement, and are formalised in the relevant legal assistance agreement.

Stoian & Partners is registered for VAT purposes in Romania. Professional fees are therefore subject to VAT at the rate applicable under Romanian law.

Stoian & Partners processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
